Collect emails for free from your link page
An audience on a social network is not yours. The algorithm changes, an account gets suspended, a platform declines — and the connection with the people who followed you goes with it. An email list stays yours.
Why this is usually paid
On most link-in-bio tools, the small "leave your email" form sits in the paid plan. From their side that makes sense: it is the feature people ask for once they start earning, so it converts best into a subscription.
The result is that many creators wait until they have "enough" audience before starting. It should be the other way round: the first hundred addresses are the easiest to collect, because they belong to the people already paying close attention.
How it works on stanmaxx
You switch the block on in the editor, under the Emails tab. You choose the heading, the pitch, the button label, the thank-you message, down to the grey wording inside the fields. You can ask for a first name alongside the address, or keep it to the email alone — the less you ask, the more people accept.
The block goes wherever you like among the others, and styles like the rest: background, text, border, shape, shadow.
What happens to the addresses
They appear in your editor with their sign-up date. You copy them all at once, or export a CSV file to import into whichever sending tool you prefer.
They are not resold, shared, or used for anything else. The public page never exposes the list: a visitor cannot see who else signed up, and a duplicate sign-up does not create a duplicate entry.
A few things that change the sign-up rate
- Say what people will receive and how often. "Once a month" reassures more than "my newsletter".
- Put the block after your main links, not before: people subscribe to someone whose work they have just seen.
- Do not ask for a first name if you have no plan to use it.
- Send something within two weeks. A list that hears nothing for six months forgets you.
